We’re pleased to announce that valued members Kingston Maurward and Goulds of Dorchester are headline sponsors of this year’s Thomas Hardy Victorian Fair – a special summer event in Dorchester to celebrate Thomas Hardy’s 179th birthday.
The event will reflect a very special time in Dorchester’s heritage and complement the annual wreath laying by the Thomas Hardy Society at the Thomas Hardy statue at Top o’ Town. It will help to promote Dorchester as a cultural tourist destination as well as being a lot of fun.
Events planned for the day include Thomas Hardy plays and poetry, heritage tours, live music, military re-enactment, steam engine, Victorian street market, Victorian tales, museum/artefact/craft displays, food and drink stalls, horse drawn vehicles, a dressing up competition and 100ft Maypole. High East Street and High West Street will be closed to traffic.
We thank the sponsors warmly for their support.
