Coastland College is the new name for New name for Kingston Mauward and Weymouth Colleges.
A new name has been unveiled for two Dorset colleges that merged last year. Kingston Maurward, which focuses on land-based studies, merged with Weymouth further education college in August 2024.
As students return the new name has been revealed, the united organisation will be known as Coastland College.
The college will continue to operate over two campuses – at Kingston Maurward estate, near Dorchester, and Cranford Avenue in Weymouth.
Principal and CEO Kate Wills said: “Today we start a new chapter under one bold, flexible and unmistakable new name and identity, stronger and more ambitious than ever.”
The new brand identity was debuted at Dorset County Show, which took place on Saturday and Sunday.
The stunning Kingston Maurward campus, offers hands-on expertise in environmental subjects, including agriculture, horticulture, countryside management and animal welfare and science, as well as public services, in a setting deeply rooted in sustainability and practical learning.
The well connected Weymouth campus, offers a diverse range of courses across health, digital, construction and engineering, A-Levels, creative media and many more, equipping you with the technical and academic skills to succeed in industries locally and beyond.

The organisation’s governing body and legal entity will remain Weymouth and Kingston Maurward College.
Kingston Maurward College was established in 1949 and lies within the 750-acre estate of the Kingston Maurward House – an 18th-century country mansion.
