Dorchester Christmas event announces 2022 date.

After the success of the daytime Dorchester Christmas Cracker this year, it will return for 2022.

Organisers of the Dorchester Christmas Cracker which until this year was held on a Thursday evening have confirmed that it will return as an all-day event on Sunday 11 December 2022.

Chair of the committee Steve Bulley said; “The feedback has been amazing from visitors to the event, stall holders and retailers. We saw over 3000 people in the town across the day and it was clear that the event gave a much-needed boost to the community.

“The team of volunteers from the Dorchester Chamber for Business, Dorchester BiD, Town Council and town supporters delivered an all-new event for Dorchester and I’m delighted that the town is totally behind it returning on Sunday 11 December 2022.”

The Cracker saw over 50 street stalls offering a variety of unique products from local traders.  Three Christmas/craft fairs in the Corn Exchange, Shire Hall Museum and Trinity Club with over 80 tables. Carol singers filled the air and a children’s fancy dress parade lifted the spirits of the crowds to the sound of the Holly Trinity Church bells being rung.

Chair of Dorchester Bid Neil Strudwick added; “From my part, I was there, I saw, and I feel for sure cold, damp Thursday Christmas Crackers are a thing of the past and a warm, successful welcome to the first Sunday Cracker.”
