Dorchester Chamber for Business is organising some Taster Workshops on Soft Skills and Business Support after the Meet the Neighbours breakfast on Tuesday, 14th January 2020 at the George Albert Hotel & Spa from 10.00am to 1.00pm.
The taster workshops cost just £5 for the morning. Price includes light refreshments – tea/coffee and pastries/biscuits. Each workshop will provide a free handout.
Dorset Business Mentoring (Dormen) will be there to launch a special incentive we’ve negotiated for members and to offer free taster mentoring sessions.

Soft Skills and Business Support – Options are:

HR – Jane Eldridge, Head of HR, Blanchards Bailey – Jane will run through the basics of employment law, contracts, holiday entitlement, sub-contractors, discrimination, etc.

Mental Health At Work – Verity Woodgate, Zenna Wellbeing in the Workplace will discuss creating a policy of mental awareness at work, signs to recognise mental health issues and tips to reduce stress.

Microsoft Office – Trudy Ritsema, IT Courses Dorchester, will run through some of the new functions to be found in Office and Excel following recent updates.

Motivation – Peter Radford, Beyond This will provide the key to becoming more productive at work and avoid procrastination

Presentation Skills – Rosie Barfoot, Training for Results, will give advice on how to improve performance in public speaking – Learn the 5 P’s for pitch perfect presentations

Social Media – Bethany Carter, Lemon Squeezy Marketing will give us tips on how to get the best out of social media – planning workshop and free template.

Sustainability – Rosie Lees, The Embroidery Barn, will help you make your business greener and more sustainable by making a few, simple changes.

Troubleshooting – Dawn Crossingham, D52Ltd Business Toolkit, will demonstrate how to turn around a downward slide and return balance to your business.
Dorset Training Academy, Weymouth College and other organisations will also be on hand to offer support and information on training courses.
Anyone is welcome to book on to the workshops, but places are limited so early booking is recommended. You do not have to attend the Meet the Neighbours breakfast to sign up for the workshops.
