Jurassic Coast Skills event links business and education

It was a fantastic turnout for our Jurassic Coast Skills Development Business Reception held at the Dorset County Museum alongside Dippy to further reinforce the core links between business and education.

The successful event was part of a unique collaboration between Dorchester Chamber, Weymouth and Portland Chamber and Dorset Chamber in partnership with Weymouth College. It focused on the needs of Dorset businesses as well as the future development of our local workforce and the role of education in ensuring a growth in core skillsets.

If you missed the event held on Thursday 22nd March, this short video by Felix Cohen Films captures empowering atmosphere it created.

In addition, there was also an opportunity for a private view of the famous Dippy on Tour currently residing at the museum. Dippy – Britain’s most famous Jurassic age dinosaur – left the Natural history museum after more than 100 years to make his first tour stop on the Jurassic Coast – the birthplace of paleontology.

On tour with Dippy has been designed to encourage those outside of the capital to take a natural history adventure and experience the awe-inspiring might of Dippy in person and to learn a little more about these creatures who walked Dorset’s Jurassic coast over 150 million years ago.
