Dorchester Chamber for Business has launched member drop in events, starting this summer.
Meeting on the 1st Monday of every month, except August and January, the first gathering will be on Monday 5th July at 6pm at the Duchess of Cornwall, Queen Mother Square, Poundbury. There is no charge, simply come along, buy at the bar and feel free to bring other business folk (members or not). The event will move around the town each month to different venues so if you have a favourite do suggest it.
Frankly, the last year has been like to opening of A Tale of Two Cities. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. We have seen the very best of what science and technology can do but for most people, especially people like us running small(er) businesses it has been to say the least testing. Sadly, not everyone has made it through the tempest and the shape of how we trade going forward in what will be the new different is largely unknown.
There is an old adage that a problem shared is a problem halved and so, whilst appreciating the pressure on your time and the need to concentrate on your business, as the Dorchester Chamber for Business we have set up a monthly drop event where you simply turn up if you can. The chance to natter, to swap stories and ideas, to mix with people, yes to Network. We are all human beings and all too often when we shorten that to Humans we ignore the most important bit, that we are beings. We need to be; we need to be with other people. Enjoying their company while mutually benefiting from feeding off each other. We the SMEs create 62% of the non-Government jobs in this country so let’s come together once a month to celebrate that!
Let’s come together and drive the new different together.
