New team at the top of Dorchester Chamber for Business

Dorchester Chamber for Business has a new team at the top for the next 12 months. Previous President Steve Bulley returns to the top role and is joined by Steph Addison who takes up the position of Vice President.

Steve said: “It is my honour to be appointed as President of Dorchester Chamber for Business for a second time by the executive committee.

“I would like to offer my thanks to Peter Greenaway who has lead Dorchester Chamber over the past three years during a difficult time and I’m delighted he will remain on the Executive and work on the Membership Sub Committee with new Exec member Amanda Whitlock”

“The Chamber is in a healthy place with just over 90 members, the largest of any town chamber in Dorset. We are seeing nearly 50% of our membership actively engaging which is considerably above the average for Chambers across the UK.

“I am aware it’s not just numbers but quality of members that counts and the Exec Committee will continue to ensure that as we grow during 2024 it is with members who will compliment the business community.

“Our relationships with Dorchester Town Council, Dorchester BID and Dorset Council remain strong and I will continue to lobby on matters that impact businesses in Dorchester.”

Steve will be replaced as Vice President by Steph Addison who is a member of the Marketing and Events management team at Kingston Maurward College. Steph brings a new perspective on Dorchester Chamber and will work to ensure  the organisation remains fit for purpose in the ever changing business landscape. She will also represent the Chamber at events. Steph was educated in Dorchester and built her career in the county town.

Steph said: “It is an exciting opportunity to move to Vice President of the Chamber, and I am very much looking forward to continuing to work with the great businesses in Dorchester. I also relish the opportunity to help the Chamber evolve its membership, events, and the overall member offering, something the whole committee is excited to pursue. I am honoured to be working alongside Steve and the team for the forthcoming year.”

Steve added: “Many of you know that I am a former Thomas Hardye school boy and passionate about the success of the county town, my day job as Head of Business Support Services with a major Growth Hub gives me an insight into the wider business landscape. With Steph as Vice President and a strong Executive Committee I’m certain that Dorchester Chamber for Business is in robust health.”
