Volunteer Centre Dorset is again hosting the Dorset Volunteer Awards Evening – an event which recognises the fantastic contribution of volunteers across the county.
One of the Awards is the Community Award for Volunteering, which acknowledges the involvement of local businesses and their staff through employee volunteering in the local community. Awards are also given out to nominated volunteers from the following three categories:
- Young Volunteer of the Year
- Volunteer of the Year
- Group/Team of the Year
The ‘Oscar style’ event is attended by 200 guests and formally thanks volunteers chosen by their peers, who are truly the unsung heroes of the community. Last year’s guests included Lord and Lady Fellowes, Jean Lang, Deputy Lieutenant of Dorset and Debbie Ward, CEO of Dorset County Council.
However, catering for 200 volunteers is a huge challenge – both financially and logistically. The only way to achieve this is via sponsorship and support in kind, hence we are looking for a main sponsor (£1,000) and category sponsors (£300 for each category) plus table sponsors (£50 per table).
We are also asking for donations of food and drink to create a cold buffet. Any donations of bread, fillings, cold meat, cheese, pastries etc. and non-alcohol drinks would be gratefully received.
All our sponsors will be acknowledged via media, on our website, and during the evening as the night is promoted prior and post event. Your support will be hugely appreciated by the hundreds of volunteers from across the county working tirelessly behind the scenes.
