Dorchester Community Funds Open

Dorchester Community Funds Open to assist local projects. 

Dorchester Town Council will be opening the Dorchester Market Car Boot Fund for applications from Monday 7th September 2026 until midnight Sunday 1st November 2026.

The grant is for £300-£1000 and is open to eligible groups supporting people within a 6.67 mile radius of the Market (DT1 1QS).

To be eligible for funding, applicants must:

  • Be a voluntary, non-profit-making group or charity operated with no undue restriction on membership.
  • Demonstrate good management, be constituted, have written policies, hold regular management committee meetings and be able to provide up to date accounts.
  • Have an appropriate safeguarding policy – if you are working with children and young people or vulnerable adults.
  • Demonstrate a need for their project that will result in a community benefit.

The Dorset Council Community and Culture Project Fund Round 11 is also currently open, until midnight on Wednesday 30 September 2026.

The fund provides small grants to organisations who want to start new activities and events that benefit the local community.

The fund is for ‘not for profit’ community groups including:

  • museums
  • arts
  • heritage
  • physical activity
  • sport
  • play

We prioritise applications that supports residents and those groups that are marginalised, disadvantaged or hard to reach.

 

With around 100 members any business in Dorset can join Dorchester Chamber from business for £60p/a (no VAT).
