Join Blanchards Bailey at The Dorset County Show

Summer show season is one of the highlights of the Dorset calendar. and The Dorset County Show is the biggest.

From livestock competitions and agricultural trade stands to local food, family entertainment and catching up with familiar faces, the county’s agricultural shows bring together everything that makes Dorset such a special place to live and work.

At Blanchards Bailey, these county shows in summer have long been an important part of our year. With a history of serving Dorset communities dating all the way back to 1924, our roots are as proud as they are deep. Many of our clients are individuals, farming families, landowners, and business owners who have helped shape Dorset over generations.

This is why we are proud to once again support and attend three of Dorset’s biggest summer shows:

  • The Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show, 19 to 20 August 2026 – Stand G8
  • The Melplash Show, 27 August 2026 – Stand C64
  • Dorset County Show, 5 to 6 September 2026 – Stand i6, Avenue i

Although there is always an incredible amount to do and see, agricultural shows are about much more than a day out.

They provide an opportunity to celebrate the importance of Dorset’s rural economy, showcase local businesses, support farming communities and maintain connections between people who care deeply about the future of the county.

As a firm, we work closely with individuals, families and businesses at every stage of life. Whether helping farming families plan for the future, supporting local businesses through periods of growth, advising on property matters or helping families navigate personal legal challenges, our work is built on long-term relationships.

Summer shows like these allow us to step away from the office, meet people face-to-face and continue conversations that often span generations.

Dorset County Show, 5 to 6 September 2026 – Stand i6, Avenue i

Held at the Dorchester Showground, the Dorset County Show remains one of the county’s flagship agricultural events, attracting thousands of visitors, and growing, each year. The end-of-harvest celebration includes a music stage headlined by West Country legends The Wurzels, livestock shows and racing, and main ring entertainment including Managing Partner Paul Dunlop’s favourite monster trucks! The show provides a valuable meeting place for farming families, business owners and professionals from across the county.

Blanchards Bailey has been a consistent supporter of the show and has continued its sponsorship in recent years, recognising the important role it plays in promoting agriculture, rural businesses and local Dorset.

The BBAR is back for 2026, showcasing the county’s best with a cocktail menu featuring spirits from artisanal producers Shroton Fair VodkaBlack Ven Dark Rum, not forgetting Fordington Gin masterclasses by creator Ros Nelmes.

Our team will once again be attending throughout the weekend and looks forward to welcoming clients, and friends, old and new faces, to our hospitality stand.

The highlights of our summer are opportunities to spend time with the people and businesses that make this county such a great place to live and work.
